InfiniteWorkouts came about due to two driving forces: We wanted Teachers to be able to focus on the student by providing real time support and feedback to each individual student. Two – as a student | wanted to see the exercise or movement as i’s being described to me. Yes – seeing the movement can be very helpful.
Where did the idea come from? _| had begun having having back spasms that would drop me to my knees and I’d be out of commission for days at a time. After the 4th or Sth episode it was time to seek some professional guidance. | sought out a Physical Therapist as a start – not having any idea what might be the root cause. The therapist asked a number of questions with the final being – so, what exactly are you doing 1 or 2 days prior to the back spasm. Well – huh, as a Program Manager for large technical/computer based projects it wasn’t what I’d suspected. As in – I’m usually siting at my desk. When retracing the days leading up to the spasms it was evident that the the issues were directly tied to my weekend or evening projects that had me physically doing things my body simply wasn’t used to doing. Up and down ladders, on my knees fixing something, then carrying lumber and leaning over something for 2 hours. Bingo! The therapist was very confident of the root cause. They provided me with a handful of stretches, walked me through them carefully and helped me understand how each worked my body. I’ve done those religiously almost every day for years and I’ve never had the problem again – no matter the crazy weekend projects | had been doing. What | didn’t realize at the time was that all those stretches were founded in Yoga.
That realization then sent me on a hunt: can | get access to a variety of health and weliness classes with great instruction and education from home? | really wanted the personal instruction with an awesome teacher focused on teaching and not on trying to “do yoga’ or the related exercise while at the same time attempting to watch their students on a screen. | wanted the ability to watch and view the exercise or yoga move because honestly – I’m a beginner and starting from zero. It really helps me to see an expert doing the exercise and one more key iter – | didn’t want all the other students seeing me during the classlll (Ya – itis kinda weird that all the other students see you during the class if you ask me. OK – we’ve asked a LOT of other people along this journey and they agree – that’s just weird)
– Teachers are focused on the students and students only. They are viewing the students and provide support and feedback to students during the session. Your instructor is not actively doing the movement in the class during the session
– Students see the exercise or movement in real time during the session. The best combination – seeing the exercise when you need or want to while a teacher is focused on feedback and support that is specific to you and your classmates. The teacher can talk to one individual student or all students
– Only the teacher sees the student(s) during the session. NO – your fellow students do not see you during the session because yes, that is a bit weird.
– Allows for a social experience with fellow students and the teacher before and after a session in the “Hallway* (Students can go directly into the Classroom or choose to enter the Hallway and share both their video/voice with fellow students and the teacher before and/or after the class to enjoy a conversation or discuss the class)
